At times clients come in and ask me to create a group that can be a psycho-spiritual community for them. One client said he'd been part of many spiritual groups but there wasn't any safety without a therapist holding the container and the boundaries. I've heard this enough times that I finally listened.

This fall of 2006, I'll have a group for people who want a spiritual frame to hold them as they do their deeper psychological work. We'll meet weekly on an ongoing basis. There will be time each week for people to talk about the issues that are currently up in their lives as well as getting feedback from others.

As we're working together we will encounter some of the patterns that restrict our lives. This patterns can be invisible to us, often only discovered in relationships to others. Facing them and how they have shaped us over many years is complicated and sometimes painful. When we're alone in the patterns, we often find ourselves spinning in isolation or finding ourselves repeating the pattern externally, sometimes in painful ways.

Building a safe community will provide a holding container so those patterns can be brought into awareness. As we bring compassion and love to those patterns they begin to relax and become less constricting. We begin to live more refreshed and satisfying lives.

No religious or spiritual affiliation is necessary. All that is needed is an openness to being with others who might have a different perspective.
